A quick FYI. I’m going to be teaching a Sunday morning, adult Sunday School class on worldview January 7-February 25 at Corinth Reformed Church (corinthreformed.org). Class time is 10:00-10:45. Corinth is our home church and a great place to be. The class is called “The View From Here: A Journey Toward Confident Faith.”
I tell you what, you read a lot of the stuff my generation is writing about Jesus, and you might get the impression that we’re doing God a favor by believing in Him! Do you know what I mean? There is so little CONFIDENCE in God, in the Bible, and in Truth out there. It’s kind of like doubting God has become a fashion statement.
Yes, God is big enough to handle our doubts and questions. But He’s also BIG enough to demand our FAITH. No…we don’t need a “head-in-the-sand-eyes-shut-tight” form of naiveté. But we do need more believers who love Jesus passionately, understand his Word deeply, and stand for it tenaciously.
This class is going to introduce students to the basic elements of Christian worldview and help them understand how it impacts life. I’m convinced that some of the “big” questions people are asking need the light of biblical wisdom. Hopefully, this class will help those with questions and spark curiosity in those who don’t have any.
We’re creating a student book, instructor’s guide, power point presentation and various multi-media elements for this class. Hopefully, it’ll get refined over the next year as I hope to teach it at least one more time. We’ll probably make this whole thing available for free on-line as we’re in the first stage. Maybe next time, get some video shot. Anyway…
