A Meeting Place for Those Who Aren’t Afraid of the Border

So…have you heard of a “living fossil”? When evolutionary scientists find the fossil of an unknown species and assign it a place in the long-gone past (millions of years), they are sometimes embarrassed when one of these creatures turns up in the deep ocean, alive and well, not the ancient ancestor of the modern hummingbird (or something like that). So…they’ve come up with a very “sciency-sounding” moniker for such critters: “living fossils.” Here is video of one below. Japanese scientists were able to film this fella before he turned belly-up.
