Greetings All. I’ve been teaching a class called, “The Church in Emerging Culture” (see link on “pages” section of the blog for course description and outline). We’ve just posted our first session and will be posting one each week for the next 8 weeks. You can subscribe to the video podcast at this link:http://borderlandsweb.blip.tv
Here’s the video window (with the most recent episode playing):
Very cool Adam. I am hooked for the next 7 sessions! It is a blessing to have the privilege to have access to the depth of your mind again! Long distance learning! Love to all.

Great stuff, Adam- This isn’t something that can be explained in sound bites, so I really appreciate you posting these videos. I’ll be tuning in for future sessions!

adam, this is awesome stuff brother. i didn’t get a chance to finish the first video yet. i thought it was going to be about 20 mins. But starting it after midnight, I soon realized I may have been waiting till daylight before i finished. NOT that there is anything wrong with that!
by chance, could you post an mp3 version to download going forward?
somehow hearing you talk again like this reminds me of some of the talks we used to have in those cool blue chairs at your humble abode back in the day….good times. I really cherished that time, and I also cherish these new videos as well. you can’t get any better online learning than this!
and yes, Michael Jordan is the best basket-baller ever…aint no doubt about it.
peace out

Hey All,
Thanks for the kind comments! I’m glad you’re finding the material informative and helpful.
Brick, anyone who subscribes to the I-TUNES video podcast will have the videos automatically downloaded to their I-tunes player. That’s the easiest way to get them on your computer. BTW, I loved those blue chairs and the conversations they helped create!!!
Also, for anyone interested, we’re trying to determine how and to what extent we’re going to make DVD versions of these lectures available. If you are interested, let me know via a post. I’ve already had a number of people ask to get these on DVD. We’re thinking about packaging the set along with a CD-ROM with all the handouts in PDF format.
If we get enough of a response to this, I’m considering putting together a few extra features and also creating a small group learning format.
Let me know if any of this peaks your interest!

First off, I was able to master the downloads Adam. Now i just need to get the video ipod to carry it with me. Although, having it on my laptop will make it easier as well.
As far as the DVD goes, I don’t think it would be a bad idea. obviously having the video capabilities, you could whip some up on demand, right?
Since this is about the Emergent church and all, I thought everyone would be interested in this quote. It is from the most recent/5th anniversary issue of Relevant Magazine. The quote was originally from July 2006 interview with Tony Jones who happens to be the National Coordinator of Emergent. “I think putting the qualifier ‘absolute’ in front of truth is a modernistic fallacy. Truth is not qualified by adjectives like ‘absolute’. So for me personally, talking about absolute truth is a nonsensical way to talk, and Christian theologians shouldn’t talk in that way.”
Leaves me scratching my head a bit. I wonder what his response would be to Jesus saying I am the Way, the Truth, and Life. ???
Well, i’ve gotta run and do some work for school now.
have a blessed week Borderlands bloggers
